The always helpful London Underground staff…

July 29, 2005 – 2:05 am

For the Americans reading this, these signs on the Underground are usually used to update people on train delays or line problems.

Here, they’ve posted someone has photoshoped some helpful information on how not to get shot to death by some overanxious cops.

The sign reads: Please do not run on the platforms or concourses. Especially if you are carrying a rucksack, wearing a big coat, or look a bit foreign. This notice is for your own safety.

Update: So apparently this sign is a fake. The original is here. Still funny though. I’ve found myself missing more trains in fear of being mistakenly shot eight times.

  2. This sign is a fake - created by someone with minimal Photoshop skills and too much time on their hands.

The original photo was posted on the BBC News website and the message on the whiteboard was something about the fire at Telstar House.

Whoever made up this photo is an idot, as it’s done in very poor taste.

All LU staff are devestated that terrorists chose to single us out as a ’soft target’ and we are equally as devestated that 52 of our customers were killed in the bombings.

No member of LU staff would ever think of writing such an insenitve message on a whiteboard.
